Following the successful launch of the ‘Movement to Work Scheme’ last year, the HR/Training team at Greenyard Fresh UK again ran the programme with equal success.
The aim of the scheme is to create a short, but detailed and worthwhile scheme to give unemployed people between the ages of 18 – 24 years old the experience of working within a business environment. The ultimate aim was to give them the skills and experience they needed to get back to work in the future.
Working collaboratively with the local Job Centre and a local training company Greenyard Fresh UK welcomed a small number of candidates who were specially selected for the scheme. After spending a week with the training company, the candidates were positioned in different departments within the company for a three-week period. The scheme ran between mid-October to early November 2017. A further Movement to Work scheme is scheduled for mid-November to early December 2017
Working through a pre-prepared schedule created by the respective department managers, the candidates gained work place experience, they also participated in a mock job interview during their last week. Regular meetings were held with the HR/Training team to monitor progress. Each candidate was presented with a certificate by Alan Forrester, Managing Director at a presentation event to conclude their placement.

Greenyard Flowers are pleased to announce a fresh look to their website www.greenyardflowers.co.uk
The previous version was based on a platform originating in the 1990’s, therefore the website was extremely outdated with a restrictive structure and slow speeds.
December heralds the start of the new daffodil season, so the opportunity was taken to replace the existing site with a condensed, brighter, more modern, visual site in time for the new season.
