UNIVEG UK was proud to support the recent annual ‘Food & Farming Day’ which was held at the East of England Showground, near Peterborough. With over 5,000 children attending from across the whole Eastern region of the UK. The function is designed to help them understand a little more about where their food comes from, farming and the overall importance of agriculture.
UNIVEG UK donated a wide variety of fruit which included avocados, lychee, mangoes, passion fruit, lemons, Fairtrade oranges and clementine’s. The fruit was used to build a replica of a typical market stall display in an African village. The village itself was built by 20 students from Africa currently studying agriculture in the UK; the students are funded by the Marshal Papworth Scholarship Fund which is administered by the East of England Agricultural Society.
