UNIVEG to Showcase Ideas for Uplifting Sales and Demand for Fresh Produce

At FRUIT LOGISTICA 2014, in Berlin on February 5th – 7th, UNIVEG will shine the spotlight on the wide range of products and solutions it has developed to promote a growth in sales and the consumption of fresh fruit and vegetables.

mam_133181_203132_Fancybox_900pxDespite a rising awareness of the need to eat healthy, nutritious foods, extensive research and activity both at European level and by National Governments across the E.U., has demonstrated that the per capita consumption of fruit and vegetables, in most countries, is at best stable and often declining. There are several often used reasons, including changing eating habits, consumer perception of fresh produce as inconvenient and a general lack of awareness of the range of produce available and how to prepare and use it.

UNIVEG takes its responsibilities to address this issue seriously, says Francis Kint, UNIVEG’s Group CEO. “In previous years at Fruit Logistica, we have highlighted our integrated activity throughout the value chain of fruit and vegetables, for example, our growing operations around the world and continuous investments in state-of-the-art service centres in key markets.

UNIVEG is increasingly and pro-actively partnering with its retail customers to provide the products and solutions that will, again, drive consumption forward in the years to come. In Berlin, we will devote a large area on our exhibition stand to sharing the concepts UNIVEG has to offer to stimulate initial purchase, provide our products in as convenient a way as possible, whilst also enhancing the eating experience. We will also demonstrate how we aim to increase repeat purchase and help reverse this pan-European trend.
