Friday 14th November saw the annual ‘Children in Need’ day. This eventful day takes place nationally and participants aim to raise as much money as possible for the BBC’s charity. All the money raised goes to support good causes and other charities who help disadvantaged and sick children across the country.
Thousands of people took part in all sorts of fund raising events, including famous celebrities doing their bit for charity in the UK and overseas. Closer to home Karen Wilkins from the Tropical department at UNIVEG UK decided to have her head shaved to raise money for ‘Children In Need’.
So, in the commercial office, in front of a supportive audience colleague Emma Bird cut Karen’s hair. We must commend Karen for her bravery and commitment to charity as the locks came off!
‘Children In Need 2014’ raised around £33m nationally and Karen played her part by adding £500 from colleagues, family and friends. Well Done Karen!
