Leading trade association the Fresh Produce Consortium (FPC) was delighted to announce the election of Alan Forrester, Joint MD of UNIVEG Katopé UK Ltd as one of three new non-executive directors. The announcement was made at the FPC’s 23rd annual general meeting. UNIVEG UK is a longstanding FPC member and was a major sponsor of the Annual Dinner held at the Savoy this year.
Mr Forrester said: “I am delighted to support such an accomplished industry body that gives businesses from all sectors of the industry a voice. These are not easy times for Fresh Produce companies with relentless price, margin, and legislative pressures – I think it is important that we all actively support the FPC in these challenging times”
Also elected with Mr Forrester were Martin Panter, MD of Arnott & Mason, one of the largest importers and distributors of tropical plants to the UK landscaping industry, and Mike Parr, MD of Perishable Movements Ltd (PML). PML is recognised as one of the major fresh produce handling operations in the UK. Ian Harrison, Technical Director for Produce of International Procurement & Logistics Ltd (IPL) becomes the new co-opted FPC council member.
Chief Executive, and familiar public face of the FPC, Nigel Jenney was re-elected for a further 2 years while Jim Rogers remains the FPC President for a further year.
